Make your eyes POP!

Each eye color is different and beautiful. Here are some tips that will guarantee compliments! But let’s talk about eyes shape first.

Eye Shapes-

  Deep Set/Sunken:

This is when the eyes are further back into the skull which can cause a shadow around the eyes.

Make Up-

The goal is to eliminate the shadow and make the eyes seem closer. This can be done with a light color around the eyes. Stay away from a smoky make up at all costs. If you want something more sultry, try a modified smoke, instead of using a back in the outer corner use a deep plum or navy. This will give the same effect but it will not be as harsh as black.

Also don’t be afraid to put shadow on the brow bone, under the eye brows. This is an area where light naturally hits so put a white or champagne color so enhance the high light.

Close Set:

This is when the horizontal measurement in between the eyes is small then the diameter of the eye socket themselves.

  Make Up-

What you want to do if you have this type of eye is to create length over the bridge of the nose. A easy way you can do this is to use the lightest highlight in the tear duct area then progress to a medium color on the middle peak of the eye lid to the outer edge. Then layer the darkest shade on the outer edge and extend out past the last line. This will create a focus on the outer edge of the eye.

Wide Set:

This is when the horizontal measurement in between your eyes are longer then the width from the corner to the outer crease.

Make Up-

A way to decrease the space in between the eyes use a darker shadow shade in the inner eye to the outer crease. Then use a highlight on the brow bone and under the eye brow to brighten the eye.

 Hooded:

The brow bone and eye lid have little to no space in between them. This can make it difficult to see shadow on the eye lid. If you want to raise the brow bone there are little clear plastic inserts that open up the eye more. Or use make up!

Make Up-

Instead of putting the majority of your work into the lid move that to the brow bone. Then the work will translate.

Big Eyes:

No explanation needed.

Make Up-

Use nudes and natural colors. This will make the size softer to look at. Then you can use a white liner below the lower lash line. This makes the lash line more dominant.

Droopy:

The outer lines of the eye dip down.

Make Up

The best way is to reverse the line is the redraw it. Use liner to reshape the eye. Make more of a cat eye look with shadow then layer with liner over the shadow.

 EYE COLOR-

Blue- From robins egg to midnight these colors can make them stand out.

Stay toward Navy, Gray or Silver to make your eyes more blue or use Brown, Peach or Copper to make the blue more intense. Then line the inner rims of your eyes with a black or brown. If you want a softer look use Navy or Gray.

Green- Ranging from Lime to Hunter these complementary colors will make the trees envious.

The hot tones, Red line, are complementary so use Pink, Purple, Rose or Mauve. Or if you want to complement your forest eyes use Dark Green or Gold. Then line your peepers with Brown or Bronze.

Brown Wither you have Hazel or all the way to Dark Chocolate these tones can make your eye color rich and smooth.

To pop your eyes use Eggplant (Purple range), Jade or Emerald then if you want to make your eyes rich use Black (only on the outer edge), Brown, Bronze, Taupe. Then line with gold for a bombshell look or use black to complement your lashes.

If you want a natural look use make up that is to go slight darker then your natural color. This pumps you your inner beauty.

To wake up your eyes line your bottom lash line and use white on the tear duct.

Have fun making your eyes the focal point!
