About Wig Friends, LLC

Jes started WIG FRIENDS LLC after 10 years of working for companies in the designer role but then she realized after covid not a lot of companies can afford to hire a wig designer so she decided to start this business so that companies can have the best of both worlds. Professionally styled wigs that ship ready to go, so all you have to do is wear them! With each package, wig styling bibles are also included so the show can be maintained as you see fit. Then once the show is closed, the wigs ship back in the same box with a prepaid label! No cleaning needed! All she needs is inspiration photos, the actors head measurement (or hat size), and a headshot and she takes care of the rest!

Jes is a licensed, freelance wig maker based in Oregon. She specializes in creating realistic wigs for theater performances as well as creating fantasy characters for Cosplay and Character Appearances. And her specialty and passion lies in period styles.

She most recently was the Wig Supervisor/Wig Lead at Portland Center Stage where she made, frankensteined and styled wigs for their big musicals with the help of her assistant, the owner of Sun Drop Wigs.

Her wigs are made from human and synthetic materials so that her products are able to be more widely accessible. She uses styling products, loose hair, custom lace, and her creativity to design exactly what is needed for a theatrical performance or for her private clients.  She is dedicated to providing excellent service and a high-quality craft. Because wigs are so personal, her priority is making her clients comfortable, happy, and fabulous.

Jes has her B.A. in Theater Arts with an emphasis in Costume Design from the University of Oregon. It was there where she first discovered her love for wig styling and wig making as well as costume design. During her time in college, she designed wigs and costumes for multiple musicals and plays. After graduating in 2012, she was able to fully submerge herself in the technical arts of theater in Portland, Oregon.

In 2014, she took the plunge and went back to school to get her license in hair design which has allowed her to work in the Hair Department of a major TV show. This new skill set also gave her the confidence to cut, color and redesign hair!

Jes has had the pleasure of working with not only PCS but some of Portland’s other amazing theaters as an independent costume, wig, and makeup artist. Jes works at The Portland Opera, The Oregon Ballet Theater, Northwest Children’s Theater and Broadway Rose Theater Company.

She was also lucky enough to have a two feature article written about her, check out this article and this one.
